“Making Home in Scarborough” (2025), Coordinator, Scarborough Museum

Making Home in Scarborough is a community-engaged storytelling program at Scarborough Museum. Designed for participants of all ages and backgrounds, the program invited residents to reflect on what “home” means through personal objects, shared memories, and facilitated conversations.

Sessions included hands-on writing activities, guided prompts, and teaching on object-based storytelling, giving participants a deeper understanding of how everyday items hold cultural, emotional, and historical significance.

The program culminated in a public presentation at the museum, where participants shared their stories and displayed the objects that shaped their sense of belonging. Through this process, Making Home in Scarborough created space for connection, memory work, and community dialogue rooted in Scarborough’s diverse lived experiences.
